NoWyr Multifunction Handset

The NoWyr Multifunction hand is not only a high quality transmitter that can be used to control high end commercial equipment but it also incorporates a receiver so a signal from the switched device will allow the operator the receive confirmation the switching operation has been successfully applied.

The Unit is housed a high quality ergonomically designed enclosure, and is operated by pressing tactile buttons located beneath a durable ‘wipe clean’ surface.

The Tri- colour LED provides unambiguous status information to simplify use.

A standard readily available AAA cell alkaline battery is powers the handset providing a long operating life , low battery indication is provided.

The handset specific mode of operation can be configured to meet specific customer requirements. It is possible to control upto 128 devices from a single handset.

Standard Configuration

In standard configuration the handset can operate 8 independent devices. Each number on the handset will be associated with a particular device. Pressing the button will cause the handset to send a switch command, if the handset receives confirmation of switching the status LED will illuminate briefly GREEN for ‘ON’ and RED for ‘OFF’. If the handset fails to receive confirmation of operation, the LED will flicker BLUE indicating that a command is being sent but it is not being acted on by a receiving unit.

It as possible to check the status of a device without switching, holding the shift while pressing the button associated with a device will cause the handset to read the status and display it on the LED, GREEN = ‘ON’, RED =’OFF’ and BLUE = Not able to establish communication with a receiving device.

Slow flashing of LED in any colour indicates the battery voltage is low and it need to be replaced.

Optional Configuration Modes

1. ‘Shift On’ This mode ensures that pressing any button with shift key held down, the associated device will turn ‘ON’, if device is already ‘ON’ then the device will stay ‘ON’, pressing any button without the shift key will turn associated device ‘OFF’.

2. ‘Shift Off’ This mode ensures that pressing any button with shift key held down, the associated device will turn ‘OFF’, if device is already ‘OFF’ then the device will stay ‘OFF’, pressing any button without the shift key will turn associated device ‘ON’.

3. ‘Shift Add’ This mode increase the number of devices that can be switched by a single handset from 8 to 16. Holding the shift key and then pressing a button allows the handset to control a different device from that which would be controlled by pressing the on its own.

4. ‘Double Digit’ This mode requires 2 buttons to be pressed consecutively to switch a device, i.e. to switch a device associated to 27 the ‘2’ must first be pressed followed by the ‘7’ within 1 second. This increases the number of devices that can be switched to 64,
If this was used in conjunction with the ‘Shift Add’ the number of devices that the handset can control would be doubled to 128.


These options can be factory set prior to dispatch . NoWyr can provide a programming lead and software for the customer to program the unit to specific requirements such as operating frequency power output etc.
